The SFOC rally 2009 at the MFN was a great weekend, enjoyed by everyone Members and non-members alike.
I can't say much about the Thursday and Friday, other than it was a little 'moist' and in fact decidedly damp for one member in particular (pictures will follow).
By Saturday evening things had dried out a little, after it had finally stopped raining.
The band were very good, not exactly to the taste of the older generation but then no one seemed to mind that much, once the beer was flowing.
The thing that really marked this year's show out was the amount of streetfightered bikes on display, even to the extent of needing another tent outside to fit them all in. Quality was high and judging was difficult, a fact not everyone appreciated - you know who you are and your paint was fantastic but with 8 judges the majority vote carried, live with it.
Prizes, prizes and more trophies were sprinkled on many of us and even some visitors - all earned with hard word, dedication and much soul selling, I am of course bound to say.
The food was really nice, even better once you actually got it - the wait became less and less enjoyable but that really was the only (half hearted) complaint.

Everyone had great fun with the stunt bike shows, only few had the balls to have a go at the wheelie machine though but what a ride! I mention the bouncy castles and the goodies tents because they were there - something we need to see more of on both counts for next year.
Like every year (and not to disappoint this year) "he who shall remain nameless" blessed us all with a shaggy dog story, joke or something along those lines. As usual this was at the point where you've already asked yourself if this really should be your last pint, twice. The result was to be asked to explain the whole thing the following morning. IF it was funny to start with, it had lost something during the night.

Of course this was a good time to meet people who you've only known by a forum name, putting the face to the avatar so to speak. Some surprises for one or two I noted, Coco. Everyone always rates this aspect of the rally - you even get to meet people who are members and who DON'T use the forum!!! Nice to see everyone again!
